MAKE INITIATIVE
For many patients in Grenada, access to cataract surgery has been delayed for years, with a backlog that grew during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Limited availability of surgical resources, equipment and appropriate lenses can mean waiting even longer for the care that could restore their sight and independence.
M.A.K.E. Initiative Foundation builds on years of healthcare mission experience.
Around the world, millions of people live with vision loss from conditions that are preventable or treatable. Cataracts remain one of the leading causes of blindness, while access to appropriate surgical care and trained professionals remains uneven.
Our approach goes beyond providing care by sharing surgical expertise, supporting clinical education, and strengthening partnerships with local healthcare professionals. We aim to help build capacity that can continue long after a mission ends.
We’ll share updates from the Oct 2026, initiative, including the people, partnerships and progress behind the work.
